Description
This Colt “Pocket New Line” .22 revolver is a true Old West–era hideout piece, built for gamblers, shopkeepers, and anyone who wanted a tiny backup they could disappear in a vest pocket. Featuring a short 2.25" barrel and five-shot cylinder, it’s one of Colt’s early metallic-cartridge revolvers and qualifies as an antique under federal law (made before 1899). The petite bird’s-head grip and spur trigger give it unmistakable 19th-century character.
This example wears bright nickel plating with attractive wood grips that show rich figure and some honest age. The cylinder shows dark patina and freckling, typical of a gun that’s seen more than a century of handling and storage. Mechanically, these were simple, single-action revolvers designed around .22 rimfire blackpowder loads, and any shooting today should be approached cautiously with appropriate low-pressure ammunition—or enjoyed strictly as a display and conversation piece.
For Colt collectors and Old West enthusiasts, this Pocket New Line offers an affordable entry into the antique Colt world: small enough to display anywhere, packed with history, and instantly recognizable as a genuine 19th-century Colt.
